I want to buy a SLR , nothing to fancy, just a good quality camera that i can take snaps of the kids with. Ive had a look at a few but there is so many on the market, Do you think this would be suitable

My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7 digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because I can enlarge pictures on the computer better. This camera seems to impress everyone with the quality of the pictures it takes … like magic. Many of the new cameras come with only an LCD display. Would suggest that you find one that has an optical view finder because the LCD is almost impossible to see in bright sun.

That looks like a good camera, but would probably go for for this camera. FUJIFILM - FinePix 10.0-Megapixel Digital. Only $249 at Walmart or Best Buy. This seems to be more camera for less money.

The second link will help you learn to clean the camera and battery contacts on any camera you buy. Digital Cameras require lots of power. If the contacts are not really good it can cause lots of problems. This is really important.

It can be any camera. Just tell your own opinion what is the best camera in the world.
For me, it is the Hasselblad h3dii 50 or maybe the phaseone 60 megapixel back.
Because obviously it has a whopping number of megapixels.
Thus, it produces extremely sharp and detailed pics.

Are they as good as my Swedish Hasselblad 503cw with Danish Phaseone p45 back and German-made Zeiss Glass?
And also my 35mm Leica MP and Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH Lens?
The Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH is considered the best 50mm lens by the way.
Is a Nikon any better than a Lomo?
They’re not designed to be as good as a Hasselblad. Canon, Nikon and so on are in the consumer camera business not the very high level pro side.
Although they do make cameras that many pros use, Hasselblad, as I think you already know, is a camera designed for the very high level pro who can then charge very large prices for their work.
